Sently

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective September 15, 2026

Every Sently account sends through shared email infrastructure. When one account mails people who never asked to hear from it, inbox providers and our delivery partners hold that against everyone. This policy is what keeps the service working for all of our customers. It is part of the Terms of Service.

Only email people who asked

Make leaving easy

Keep your list healthy

We measure every account’s bounces and spam complaints. An account may be suspended automatically, without notice, when over the last 30 days:

High counts of either can trigger suspension on a small list before a rate is meaningful. A new account’s first large sends may go to a small test group first, and the rest of the send can be held for review if that group bounces or complains at a high rate.

Content you may not send

AI-written drafts

Sently can draft newsletters for you. You are responsible for what you send, including AI-written content: review drafts and their sources, and don’t turn on automatic sending for anything you would not stand behind unread.

Follow the law

You must comply with the laws that apply to your email, including CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada and the GDPR in the EU and UK where they apply to your recipients.

Enforcement

We may review accounts, hold or cancel sends, and suspend or close accounts that break this policy, with or without notice. Where we can, we will tell you why and how to fix it.
